"... It's been excessively warm in Torino. I go around without a coat on.
Regards and kisses to you all from Pier Giorgio"
(Excerpt from a letter to his parents on March 3, 1922)
Turin, the original capital of Italy, the headquarters of "La Stampa," the birthplace of Blessed Pier Giorgio Michelangelo Frassati. The city holds many secrets that we will probably never know of the works of charity he did for his beloved poor! Here he attended Mass, pursued his university degree, spent countless hours in Adoration, visited the sick and dying, chased away Fascist intruders from the family home, played practical jokes on his friends, engaged in social action, planned outings in the mountains, lived, really lived, and died. His incorrupt mortal remains rest here while his revolution of charity continues around the world. Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati..pray for us!
(Note: The building pictured here is where Pier Giorgio died on July 4, 1925. The street address is Corso Galileo Ferraris 70. It is currently owned by a financial institution and can only be viewed from the outside. A plaque on the wall on the right side when facing the building is dedicated to Blessed Frassati.)
