"He'll come here because I have the most sincere pumpkin patch and he respects sincerity." - Linus van Pelt (from "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown")
This is a wonderful time in the Church year when we the
Church Militant honor the
Church Triumphant and the Church Suffering. Although there have been some efforts in the culture to put the focus elsewhere, there are still so many people who enjoy it for all of the right reasons. I especially love seeing the creativity of the friends of Blessed Frassati - from amazing pumpkin carvings
to clever costumes!
Earlier this week, I received an email from Kevin F. who wrote:
"I bought 50 of the Pact Kits as give-aways for the kids in my Parish this Halloween...in addition to candy. Want to spread the word about PGF." What a great way to introduce young children to Blessed Frassati! Of course, without the candy, as Kevin clearly knows, it might not go over as well! :)
Over the years, I've received quite a few photos of various Pier Giorgio sightings like the ones shown here - from school and church events, Frassati young adult gatherings, home
school
parties and more. Like the Great Pumpkin, I'm sure Blessed Frassati respects any sincere acts of imitation!
If you happen to catch him in your area in the next few days,
please send me a photo (if it's okay to share it.)
Happy All Hallow's Eve, All Saints and All Souls Days! Blessed Pier Giorgio, pray for us!
