“[But] take care not to perform righteous deeds in order that people may see them; otherwise, you will have no recompense from your heavenly Father." - Matthew 6:1
"When you give alms, do not blow a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets to win the praise of others. Amen, I say to you, they have received their reward." - Matthew 6:2
Of course, Jesus wasn't talking about things we do only during the Christmas season but what we do or should be doing all year long. However, it does seem to be this time of year when the season of giving moves us to think more of those who are less fortunate."But when you give alms, do not let your left hand know what your right is doing, so that your almsgiving may be secret. And your Father who sees in secret will repay you." - Matthew 6:3-4
Be a blessing and be blessed - what a wonderful formula for a happy and holy Christmas! May the peace of our newborn king fill your home with joy. And may Blessed Frassati intercede for you in a special way."It is more blessed to give than to receive." - Acts 20:35
