United in Prayer with Pier Giorgio

Ten days and counting to the celebration of Blessed Frassati's feast day on July 4th!  That means it's time to join together and pray the novena in his honor. 

For me, this is a special time and comes with an outpouring of grace.  People report answered prayers and favors received in all shapes and sizes: physical healings, spiritual conversions, financial breakthroughs, improved relationships.  But what makes it extra special is knowing that we are praying together. 

When Pier Giorgio started his playful group of friends named the Tipi Loschi, his vision was for them to always stay united in prayer. 

"I would like for us to pledge a pact that knows no earthly boundaries or temporal limits: union in prayer."

Each time we pray the novena together, I feel like we are bringing him great joy by fulfilling that vision.  All these years later, we are the modern-day Tipi Loschi! 

By the way, I like to write down my novena intentions for two reasons: first, it is easy for me to forget them as the days go by; and second, it is amazing to look back and see how many prayers were answered.  This is a powerful novena!

It gives me peace each year to know I am leading up to the celebration of Independence Day with nine days of prayer.  There is certainly plenty to pray for lately with all that is happening in our country.  And I trust that Pier Giorgio is looking out for America because he once expressed a desire to be a missionary here. 

Please include his canonization cause in your prayers at this time.  Especially pray that any obstacles standing in the way would be removed so that someday soon, God-willing, we will pray the novena in honor of Saint Frassati!
